Reality Slips away:

Reality Slips away:
The Jewish face (she said)
in the mirror
Is the face I must
have earned

Blood
Tears
Sweat
Eaten anguish

A maquette
shaped
biogenetically
Nary a semitic
germ
infected this
helical armature

Yet
There it is, for
the world to see.

An old face
on a young body
draped on the soul
of a child

a child peeks
seeks
Contact
seeks

"Yes."

II.
silently
Like Munck
I scream

I see
what satisfies the world

I reject it
I hate it
I reject
mere existence
pure being

Pure being
is
Nothing.

Civilisation
outstripped us.

replaced
hunting
harvesting
gathering
shelter

invented devices
We
lift dead weight
walk in circles.

What use
muscles
in a
world of machines?

The last ditch
was dug
at the
order of a military
sergeant.

It was quickly filled in.

Muscles are purposeles
useless motion.

No one thinks
The world stopped thinking

Eyes look out
heavy lidded
follow commands

Brains are
not alive

purposeless

passive collectors
of garbage

But
here
I see it here

In me:

a persistent fire.
